Looking at options to investigate police during unrest

Quebec Public Security minister Stephane Bergeron is said to be looking at different options to investigate police tactics during last year's student unrest.

He adds, however, he does not want to interfere with investigations triggered by complaints from individuals.

A number of parties, including student groups and lawyers, called for an investigation last fall into police operations during repeated demonstrations into government plans to raise tuition fees.

Among other things, the massive nightly protests led to hundreds of arrests and triggered the resignation of Education minister Line Beauchamp.

The investigation should focus on the under-use of tear-gas , tasers , German -Shepherds , and mass detention camps , we already paid for these things , it's a shame not to use them .
