Officer 728 to undergo psych exam
No charges have been laid in the case of Officer 728.
Controversial Montreal police officer Stefanie Trudeau who's been under scrutiny lately was arrested last night and will have to report to a hospital for a psychiatric assessment.
The courtroom was packed with reporters waiting for Stéfanie Trudeau's appearance only to hear the crown say her name was crossed off the list, and no charges filed.
But she appeared later without warning on a peace bond, and a promise not to contact certain people, a condition for her release, according to the crown prosecutor's office. She also has to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Sherbrooke hospital.
Longueuil and Montreal police arrested Trudeau at her home in South Shore St. Hubert last night. Reports say she threatened the Montreal police chief with overtones of the Christopher Dorner case. The former LAPD cop killed two people after being fired, and was the object of a manhunt, which ended with him killing two police officers and then himself.
Trudeau was suspended five months ago with pay after her violent arrest of four people was caught on video, which is now subject to an internal investigation. Another video showed her pepper spraying students during a demonstration last spring apparently without provocation.
