Second person dies at Ski Bromont

A 17-year old boy died while snowboarding at Ski Bromont late Tuesday night.

He was the second young man to die at the hill in less than a week.

Samuel Lamontagne of  St-Hyacinthe was declared dead at the Cowansville Hospital after apparently losing control and falling into a ditch between two trails.

President of Ski Bromont Charles Desourdy says they inspected the scene after the accident and realize there is nothing they could have done to prevent it.

"We hope this never happens again, but we can't control coincidences like this. Like last year there were zero fatalities at ski hills across the province, and those are the years we love the most," he says.

Last Friday, an 18-year old man died  when he fell after taking a jump in the snowpark.

I am very saddened to hear about this. Being a skier I always found Bromont was a dangerous place to ski. I never recommend Bromont to anyone.
