A 10-year old boy has died following a snowmobile accident near Quebec City.

His father, who was driving, suffered serious injuries.

They were travelling when suddenly the snowmobile went off course and slammed into a car.

Why the snowmobile swerved is not yet known.

It was snowing at the time.

Police, who are investigating, say it appears alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
