Judge appeals murder conviction

The only judge in this country to ever have been convicted of murder is going to try to have that conviction overturned.

Jacques Delisle will be before a three member Court of Appeal panel this morning arguing that mistakes were made in the original trial where a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife Marie-Nicole Rainville.

Delisle will argue that the judge made errors during his trial and the jury did not properly consider ballistics evidence.

Delisle was convicted last June of the murder of his wife in 2009.

He had argued at his trial that she had claimed her own life.
