OQLF to leave Buonanotte alone
Not only has Quebec's language police backtracked on demands that an Italian restaurant on St. Laurent Boulevard change its menu, it's dropped the case completely.
Buonanotte confirms to CJAD, the OQLF has called off its investigation calling for French language equivalents for words like pasta.
The move caused an uproar and prompted the tongue troopers to issue a statement last week acknowledging it may have displayed an excess of zeal in promoting the French language.
