SNC-Lavalin kickbacks for hospital contract: documents

Posted By: Luciano Pipia · 3/1/2013 6:18:00 PM

Quebec anti-corruption documents made public Friday allege SNC-Lavalin paid millions in kickbacks for its McGill super hospital contract.

According to the papers, the engineering giant forked over 22.5-million dollars, that part of the money made its way into accounts linked to former MUHC boss Arthur Porter and ex right hand man Yanai Elbaz.

Porter, who faces charges, including fraud, is in the Bahamas, says he's fighting advanced cancer.

An arrest warrant has been issued for him.

He's told investigators he can't travel to Quebec for questioning because he's too sick.

Elbaz is out on bail.

He, too, faces charges, including fraud.

Three other people face charges as well, including former SNC CEO Pierre Duhaime.

I am looking forward to seeing Quebec anti-corruption investigation of SNC-Lavalin any kickbacks for its encroachment of AECL from federal government.
