Sequester causing lineups at Trudeau Airport

In the United States the budget impasse called " sequester " is already having an effect on air travellers.

People arriving at Trudeau airport to make flights heading to the United States are being greeted this week with posted advisories of possible delays while going thru pre-boarding American customs checks.

The sequester has triggered 85-billion dollars in U-S government budget cuts, and Sunday morning passengers were reporting long delays for flights heading south-of-the border.

Airport officials have reportedly said the problem is compounded by the large number of people travelling during spring break, but they also say they are in talks with American officials to try to ensure that customs clearances goers smoothly.

Delays at the Vermont & New York borders were huge this weekend as well. It will only get worse this summer.
