MUHC reassurance

The MUHC is striking a note of reassurance as the hospital network faces tens of millions of dollars in budget cuts.

MUHC Executive Director Norman Rinfret tries his best to sound reassuring as he juggles with cuts in the neighbourhood of fifty-million dollars.

To the population at large, Rinfret says there is no plan to cut services or reduce hospital capacities.

And to hospital personnel concerned about how such cuts can be made without causing damage to the MUHC`s ability to carry out its healthcare mandate, Reinfret says he understands the unions' concern. But beyond his understanding, Rinfret today had little concrete to offer MUHC health workers.

Director Norman Rinfret is double talking. The highest cost in a budget is salaries.
So what is he going to cut Nurses, Doctors ,cleaning staff, x ray techs. and other vital support staff. How about cutting management they are usually top heavy
