Trappers kill three urban coyotes

One of the last places you'd expect to find a coyote would probably be Point-Saint-Charles.

A trapper from the Outaouais recently took three coyotes that had moved onto the Via Rail property adjoining the community.

Experts suspect the animals made it across to the island using either the road or rail bridges.

The trappers were called in because some  local residents had begun feeding the animals and treating them as pets.

Officials say the coyotes could not be humanely trapped and re-settled for fear of rabies transmission.

I wonder why these animals cannot be tranquilized and relocated.

Don't feed the coyotes! A fed animal is a dead animal.

Saw a special on urban coyotes just couple of weeks ago where cities across northern part of north america have huge population. You see them just walking around parks, streets kids playing ball hockey, people taking their pets out for walk the animals checking each other out ,people walking up to them taking pictures and coyotes being pretty calm about it.Thought was pretty cool, don't know if i would let my pets outdoors by themselfs,or small kids.

'Officials' were bloody cruel. Those redneck Trappers are only too happy to kill another animal. I thought I moved to the big city to get away from that murderous mentality.
