First participants named for bill 14 hearings
A National Assembly committee will hear from dozens of groups on the PQ's new language bill once hearings begin next Tuesday.
The initial schedule is out for the first two days of testimonies.
Tuesday, the first day will feature:
- the public service union, the SFPPQ
-the Association of Suburban Municipalities
-the Conseil supérieur de la langue française
-the Association for convenience store owners
-The Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal, section Nicolas-Viel
-a network for organizations for the "francisation" of Quebec
-the Townshippers Association
On Thursday, the committee will hear from:
-Mouvement national des Québécoises et Québécois
-the Quebec community of the deaf
-Option nationale
-Three individuals speaking on their own behalf
The hearings will proceed over several weeks. Every group wishing to testify will be invited to do so. The committee received about 80 written briefs from interested parties.
