Reaction to CAQ position on Bill 14
Richard Yufe is a member of the group CRITIQ. He says the CAQ's apparent decision not to support certain main provisions of Bill 14 is a step in the right direction but it doesn't go far enough.
"We think it is a lower dose of poison, but the poison is still deadly. We think this proves that the CAQ is PQ-light and what it needs to do is vote down this bill in its entirety."
Robert Libman is the former leader of the Equality Party. He says that while the main parts of the tabled legislation are being opposed, the whole thing needs to be flushed.
"I don't think people will breathe a sigh of relief until this bill is killed on the floor of the National Assembly. So we need to keep up the pressure to make sure that it's voted down when it comes up for a vote."
Hearings on Bill 14 begin next Tuesday.
