Petition calls for end to Daylight Savings Time

Its not quite the Flat Earth Society , but there's a petition out there to fight Daylight Savings Time.

A man from Levis, has persuaded Mirabel PQ MNA  Denise Beaudoin to sponsor a National Assembly online petition demanding that Quebec abolish the time change as a health issue.

He claims that moving clocks forward this weekend will  contribute to insomnia and heart stress.

Saskatchewan, Russia and Japan all remain on Standard Time year round.

    The PQ would agree to anything these days, if it means they would get a vote. Look at the trouble Marois is in now. I think that we should leave the time the way it is.

      @PineGal Leaving time the way it is is exactly what this petition is about. Stop the daylight savings time and leave time alone. In my opinion daylight saving time is simply a govermental show of power.

    The PQ is looking more Dumb and Dumber everyday. Wasting tax payers money. They are a humiliation not only to this province, themselves and to Canada. I am born, brought up and educated here, Montreal is definitely not the city which I grew up in. The PQ has and is continuing to destroy this once vibrant city. I am a federalist, however, I believe that Mario Dumas got it right 10 years ago when he said that "Quebec is behind the rest of North America by 30 years. That now makes it 40 years.

    Time is artificial (man made). Much the same as governments. Moving the clocks one hour back or forward makes little difference. The sun will rise in the East and set in the West and life goes on. Maybe the nameless man from Levis should get a life.

    daylight avngs time is the best thing for all of us darkness is depressing i think we should keep daylight savings all year,,,,,,,
