	Accused pedophile, 82, seeks new lawyer Posted By: Shuyee Lee slee@astral.com · 3/7/2013 5:34:00 PM An 82-year-old Montreal man arrested in the Dominican Republic last week on child porn charges is looking for a new lawyer. His previous lawyer announced today that Joseph Charles Philippe Côté's request for legal aid was refused and he is withdrawing from the case. "In view of the nature of accusations, I strongly recommended that he be represented by an attorney," Charles Benmouyal told CJAD 800 News. Côté faces 7 charges, including importation and production of child porn and sexual contact and invitation to sexual contact involving minors. Police say they believe the alleged crimes happened in the Dominican Republic. Crown prosecutor Rachelle Pitre asked Côté how much time he needed to find a lawyer, so his bail hearing is put off for a week.
