A public health official is reported saying food poisoning is to blame for more than 200 people at a Quebec City prison, mainly detainees, being sick.

A newly-installed dishwasher at the prison could be the cause.

The hot steam cycle, which sterilizes the dishes, stopped working.

An investigation is underway.

Results are expected in about a week.
