New job for former head of OQLF

Last week she was dumped by the Marois government from her position as president of the Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise.

This week, the same people who fired her, have hired her again.

Louise Marchand has been named assistant director of the Regie des Alcools, the government body which regulates liquor licensing.

CAQ leader Francois Legault says it's pretty cynical to fire someone for incompetence and then rehire them in another capacity.

Like everything else that the PQ touches, they have changed their minds.

I wonder if Italian restaurants will get their liquor licence revoked.

What did I write when it was announced that she "was fired". I told everyone that she will be simply MOVED to another department - probably with a raise for her "cooperation". The PQ party is a piece of work (or a piece of something else). I called it and I was completely correct. These people never lose their high paying positions. SOMEONE PLEASE contact CNN, FOX and any other outside media source and let's move to get these two-faced bigots on the map and show their colors.

Contrary to the opinion of the CAQ, I believe that Reine Pauline has made a very wise choice. I heard a rumour that Louise Marchand's ( pardon the 's) new position requires her to visit all of the Regie des Alcools outlets to verify and report back to her Majesty if any of the wine bottles on the shelves include the dreaded word "WINE".

Does anyone know if she got a severance package from the layoff? Or was the new cushy assignment reward enough?

@Sidenote That's a very good question. I'd like to know the answer too.

@Sidenote Most likely she did but in all fairness to her she was only doing what she was instructed too.

When you resign or fired you are out fair and square. We need to hold this govt accountable and force them to back track on this most recent patronage. I for one suggest we circulate a petition showing the govt we are not idiots and will not accept this type of graft. If the citizens speak with a loud voice the govt will recant. Ultimately through social media we need to form a citizens watchdog committee to bring attention to this type of nonsense and get it out there. Years ago Sheila copps made a famous statement that she would resign if found guilty of a transgression at the time. When called on it she refused to honor her words but had no choice due to public pressure and in fact resigned. We the people hold the balance of power..
