BIXI to expand this season

The city of Montreal says it'll be setting up 50 new BIXI stations this year.

The new stations will go in areas where there's been heavy demand for the public bikes in past years.

Since the city first launched the BIXI system in 2009, they've been used more than 13 million times.

For the bike-sharing system's fifth season, there will be 450 stations and nearly 10,000 bikes on the roads.

The BIXI season officially starts April 15th, but if the weather's nice they may start setting them up a few days early.
