Couillard wants party salary
Like others before him, the newly chosen leader of the provincial Liberals has asked his party for a salary until he can secure a seat in the National Assembly.
QMI says Dr. Philippe Couillard's is asking for 150-thousand dollars a year.
The request is not unusual. Both Liberal and Parti Quebecois leaders have done the same, asking their parties to pay them until they can begin pulling salaries as MNAs.
Some continued to receive party money even after they were elected, including the Liberals' Jean Charest and the ADQ's Mario Dumont.
