DeSousa joins Team Coderre
Long-time Montreal area politician Alan DeSousa has decided to align himself with mayoral candidate Denis Coderre for November's municipal election.
Despite being courted by other parties, DeSousa joined team Coderre because of what he calls shared values and interests.
He used words like integrity, honesty and confidence when explaining his choice and hammered the new Vision Montreal-Team Marcel Coté Coalition as a collection of interests rather than a team with a workable program for the city's future.
Denis Coderre also said that DeSousa will act as a spokesman on financial matters, a high-profile position that suggests he will be on be on the executive committee should both he and Coderre win on November third.
Several other candidates were also introduced, including veteran Maurice Cohen and relative newcomer Francesco Miele.
Coderre disparaged the suggestion that he was just recruiting the same old faces, claiming that 50 per cent of his team will be coming from outside Montreal's current political scene.
