Student leader angry no charges against 728
A student leader says he is disappointed and bitter that Officer 728 will not be criminally charged for pepperspraying peaceful protesters during last summer's red square demonstrations.
Benjamin Gingras of ASSE says the Crown's decision not to proceed with charges calls the administration of justice into doubt.
He says Stephanie Trudeau engaged in an act of violence, whereas peaceful students were arrested for doing nothing more than marching in the streets.
The Crown says the video of the pepperspraying did not portray the scope of what was going on in the streets that night.
Trudeau has been on suspension with pay and another case involving her, the rough takedown of a man drinking beer in public last fall, has not yet been resolved.
