Couillard under fire for position on hydro projects
Quebec Liberal leader Phillipe Couillard is under fire from environmentalists.
Couillard has said some small-sized hydroelectric projects should be given the go-ahead.
The PQ government has done away half a dozen proposed micro-hydro projects, saying Hydro-Quebec already has a surplus of power.
The Val Jalbert project was not axed because it's already partially up.
One environmentalist says Couillard is disrespecting civil democracy.
Couillard believes nearby towns would benefit economically from the projects.
