Liberals taking constructive approach to values charter
The Quebec Liberal party says it'll take a constructive approach following word of a PQ government charter of values.
Liberal leader Phillipe Couillard tells the Canadian Press a committee including MNA's and experts has been put together to come up with a party position on the matter, that results should be known soon.
Couillard adds as important as this matter is, Quebecers' priorities are still the economy and employment.
The Marois government has said legislation is on the way.
It's expected to be tabled next month.
Bernard Drainville is the minister pushing legislation formally setting out acceptable demonstrations of religion in the province.
"Quebecers do want to have clear rules with regards to religious accommodations requests and I think they're also expecting us to affirm a certain number of values that are very important like the equality between men and women," said Drainville.
