Raymond Bachand quits politics
This story has been updated
Former Quebec Liberal finance minister Raymond Bachand is reportedly preparing to walk away from politics.
He's due to hold a news conference later this afternoon in Quebec City to make the announcement.
The 65-year-old Bachand was first elected to the National Assembly in a by-election in December 2005, and held several cabinet posts before moving into the high-profile finance portfolio following the 2008 election.
He finished a disappointing third — and last — in the party's leadership election last March, behind Philippe Couillard and Pierre Moreau.
