Montreal General dealing with a mouse problem
Officials at the Montreal General Hospital are taking extra steps to deal with a mice problem.
They've set no less than 165 mousetraps in non-patient areas at the hospital, and they've called in an exterminator every day for the past two week to check the traps.
MUHC spokesperson Ian Popple says they have a long-standing agreement with the exterminator, who typically comes in once a week during the summer.
And he adds, mice at the hospital are not unusual, even though they're now dealing with a "slightly higher" number of mouse sightings.
"We do get mouse sightings from time to time at the hospital, and that's part of the reality of our location on the side of the mountain," Popple says. "It's been that way for many years."
