A couple of familiar names are coming together.

Montreal businessman Stephen Bronfman will be formally named the new national director of finance for the Liberal Party of Canada today.

The announcement will be made at the Liberal caucus meeting which gets underway in  Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island this morning.

Bronfman, the president of the private equity firm Claridge, was also the chief fundraiser for Justin Trudeau's successful bid for the leadership of the Liberal Party.

Radio Canada reports that Bronfman will also act as a key advisor to Trudeau.

Is this the same family that evaded close to 1 Billion dollars worth of taxes with the help of the Liberal Government in 1991. Diffent rules for friends I guess.

@bigdaddy -- not sure if you meant provincial or federal government... If i'm not mistaken, the Mulroney government was still in power in 1991.
