Man chained himself to rhubarb plant
A man in South Shore Varennes chained himself to a rhubarb plant in a bid to stop his city from destroying the garden he'd planted on municipal land. It didn't work.
Gael Plunier's property is adjacent to a city park. He says the little garden and tree he planted there weren't bothering anyone but the city says it sent him half a dozen warnings over the past 15 years.
This week, police moved in and removed the chains from the 57-year old retiree before taking him to hospital for a medical check.
Plunier may face charges of interfering with the work of a peace officer.
