Mobster Vito Rizzuto moves to Laval
Mob boss Vito Rizzuto has purchased a new home on Patrick street in Ste.Dorothee, Laval and neighbours are worried. The mobster was released from a US jail last October after being sentenced to 10 years.
“I’m not comfortable with it,” said a mother playing in a nearby park with her children. “I have young kids so I'm scared but there’s nothing I can really do about it.”
Another resident added that neighbours had been talking about the mobster’s arrival for months.
But Laval Police say they have everything under control.
“We follow M. Rizzuto, and a lot of other people involved in organized crime, said Daniel Guérin who speaks for the Laval police force. “We know more about these people than they know about themselves and we are confident that there is no danger at the moment.”
He added that any residents who felt unsafe or who saw anything suspicious could call 911 or visit a local police station at any time.
Originally priced at $1 295 000, Rizzuto purchased the home for $874 000. He took possession of the two story home this July.
