WATCH: Maiden flight for CSeries could happen within days
Officials at Bombardier are anxiously awaiting the first tests of the new CSeries jets.
The aircraft manufacturer is in the midst of performing ground tests on the new transcontinental jets. Company spokesperson Marc Duchesne says once the high-speed taxi tests are complete, the aircraft would begin actual flight tests.
"We completed the low-speed taxi tests last week," he says. "The current high-speed taxi tests will bring the aircraft to a speed of 80, then 100, then 120 knots."
Duchesne says the initial air tests need to be done under perfect weather conditions — which would rule out most of this week, according to the current Environment Canada forecasts.
