Work resumes on Turcot Interchange
Quebec's transport ministry has managed to find another company to take over the abandoned worksite on the Turcot Interchange.
The new company, Construction Demathieu and Bard, began working last Thursday on the ramp from the 15 south to the 20 westbound, and work on the 20-west ramp to the 15 south-bound is set to continue this week.
Two weeks ago everything came to a grinding halt when the original contractor, Tesco 3000, walked away from the job site after a dispute.
The ministry says there will not be a delay to the job completion date which is set for this December.
It will, however, have to find a third company to complete two other jobs — the ramp from the 15 north towards the 720 east, and the 15 north toward the 20 west.
A call for tenders has yet to go out.
