Quebecers among the poorest in Canada: StatsCan
Quebecers are among the poorest people in the country, according to figures from Statistics Canada
The median family income in Quebec was $68,000 in 2010 — while the nationwide average is $76,000.
Albertans are at the top of that list, at $93,000.
Incomes also grew slower in Quebec than elsewhere in the country — 5 per cent between 2006 and 2010, compared with an average of 6 per cent across the country.
The figures also show Quebecers are among the least likely to own their own homes. Just 61 percent of Quebecers are homeowners, while the national average is at 69 per cent.
