Guilty plea a year after fatal Mascouche shooting
A guilty plea Friday in the case of a man accused of killing another man in Mascouche.
56-year old Daniel Houde has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Patrick Perrault.
The prosecutor says the 42-year old victim was shot in a field after trying to steal marijuana plants.
The plea was entered exactly a year after the shooting.
Houde, who surrendered to police after finding out thru a TV report that the man had died, entered his plea on the day he was to find out the date for his trial.
He's been sentenced to 12 years in a federal penitentiary, but as year has been removed after he was held in detention.
