Man dies in workplace accident in the Point
A 56-year-old man was killed in a workplace accident at the Agence Métropolitaine de Transport's yards on Le Ber St. in Pointe St. Charles.
The accident happened at 11:45 this morning. He was caught between the forklift he was driving and a locomotive, and was crushed to death.
Urgences Santé technicians declared him dead on the scene, while several of the man's co-workers had to be treated for shock.
A spokesperson for Bombardier says some of the company's employees were on hand at the yards doing vehicle maintenance, though it's not clear if he was a Bombardier employee, or if he worked for the AMT.
Quebec's worker's health and safety board, the CSST, has been called in to investigate.
