Montreal West rail crossing worries locals
The STM is looking into an incident at a Montreal West rail crossing where a bus reportedly came very close to the train, even having the barrier getting stuck on the bus's roof.
People who live in the area are particularly concerned about the busy crossing near the corner of Sherbrooke and Westminister — especially after the deadly crash yesterday in Ottawa.
Many locals who cross the tracks near the Montreal West commuter train station say it's badly designed, and should have more security and stop signs.
"You have to look all around to make sure it's not a train or a car," one told CJAD News.
Some also pointed out it's been getting busier, with more train and car traffic than there used to be.
The crossing is located near Royal West Academy, the town's main commercial strip, and the community center.
