Joly officially launches mayoral election campaign
Montreal mayoral candidate Melanie Joly has formally launched her election campaign.
The 34-year old lawyer's platform includes a pledge for transparent access to political decisions, rapid bus lanes as well adding green space.
She says her plan is to restore confidence in the city
Joly, who spoke to roughly a hundred supporters in the basement of a downtown Montreal church Saturday morning, blames Montreal's old and delapidated infrastructure on laws that force the city to consistently go with the lowest public contract bidders.
Mayoral candidate Denis Coderre launched his campaign Friday evening, while Marcel Cote and Richard Bergeron did so earlier in the day.
