Esseghaier does not deny terror plot
The Montrealer awaiting trial in Toronto in connection with a plot to bomb a VIA Rail train is talking openly about having plenty of reasons to become a terrorist.
In two jailhouse interviews with La Presse, Chiheb Esseghaier did not deny plotting a terror attack.
He says he is deeply bothered by western meddling in Iraq and Afghanistan and Canada's support of Israel.
He dismisses any deaths associated with Muslim terror attacks as negligible, and they can be seen as about as important at the margin of error in a scientific experiment.
The 31-year old also admits that his Muslim beliefs deepened after he arrived in Quebec from Tunisia to continue his science studies.
La Presse is also reporting that investigators have video evidence that Esseghaier and his co-accused scouted the VIA Rail line between Toronto and New York.
