TMR parents hire security because of lurking man
Some parents have hired security guards to watch over their children at a school in Town of Mount Royal because a man was caught taking pictures of kids in the neighborhood.
The parents of at least two 5-year-old girls have hired a man to patrol the school yard of Dunrae Gardens after the school sent home a letter advising them that a man was seen taking pictures at nearbyb schools.
The man was also seen in parks and is caught on video footage of the local library.
“The man has not been located yet,” Raphael Bergeron, spokesman for the Montreal Police told CJAD. “Officers will be patrolling the area for any suspicious behavior.”
“It’s a blessing that these parents are paying out of their pockets for our childrens safety,” Steven Anber, a parent at Dunrae Gardens told CJAD. “We are worried; I’ve been calling the city and the school board. This is the only school in TMR that does not have a fence, the kids have monitors but you never know.”
Mike Cohen, spokesperson for the English Montreal School Board, says the school is taking this very seriously and they’ll be meeting with TMR mayor regarding the fence.
