Pierrefonds mayor blames province for 440 stall
The outgoing mayor of Pierrefonds is blasting the province for dragging its feet on the 440 urban boulevard.
Monique Worth has told The Gazette that municipal officials have finished 90-percent of the groundwork for the new north-south artery and since it can be built before the province constructs connecting overpasses at Highway 40, there is no reason for Quebec to withhold approval.
The urban boulevard has long been touted as a solution to traffic congestion in western Pierrefonds and Kirkland.
Last year, the Transport Ministry said the artery would be finished by next year but Worth doubts that is now possible.
