Perverts on Concordia campus
A Concordia University student is taking to Facebook to issue a warning about perverts on campus.
The student was studying in the downtown Concordia library last week when a balding man in his mid-thirties sat down next to her and started touching himself.
She quickly reported him to security, who quietly asked him to leave the building, without calling the police.
“He’s not the only one, I have friends that this has happened to and even on Facebook people I don’t know say this has happened to them, this is why I’m getting kind of angry.” Concordia University student Tess Juan-Gaillot told CJAD.
“Security also told me there were multiple people doing this, some of them are one timers, others come back, and they have their pictures too.”
Concordia University said their approach is to diffuse situations quickly and efficiently with as little disruption as possible and they encourage the victims to file a police report.
“Any such incident is unacceptable,” Chris Mota, spokesperson for Concordia University told CJAD.
“We have a long standing relationship with the police on how our security agents should respond and they do respond accordingly.”
In this case, the student did try to file a police report but they told her there was not much they could do after the fact.
The Montreal Police say they should have been called to make an arrest on the spot.
