Marois defends PKP's sitting in on committee meetings
Premier Pauline Marois says Pierre Karl Peladeau will continue to sit in on ministerial committee meetings.
The PQ says Péladeau gets access to these confidential and exclusive meetings because he is the chair of Hydro-Quebec.
Pauline Marois says the son of Quebecor's founder Pierre Péladeau did not just sit in on one cabinet committee meeting, he sat in on two, and he could sit in on more.
The PQ had appointed Péladeau the chair of Hydro-Quebec, and Marois says she needs his input while she works on switching transportation in Quebec onto electric power.
But Péladeau's presence is bound to raise a few eyebrows.
He does not run the crown corporation.
His role is to moderate the board meetings — a job that rarely involves the direct management on a company.
