Roberge colleagues asked to submit to lie detector testing
Former colleagues of a high ranking Montreal Police officer who was arrested and charged with selling confidential information to the Hells Angels are being asked to submit to lie detector tests.
Several police officers who worked with Benoit Roberge have already taken the tests including former bodyguards, colleagues and friends.
Roberge was a leading investigator with the Montreal police force specializing in investigating organized crime.
Several members of the Sûreté du Québec are also being asked to submit to polygraph tests.
Some have agreed. while others are thinking about it, but no one is obliged to take the test.
Roberge who face charges of gangsterism, breach of trust and obstructing justice remains in custody pending a bail hearing next week.
The Journal de Montreal this morning reports that Roberge is being held in a cell in the infirmary wing of the Rivière-des -Prairies detention centre for his own protection.
