$400,000 in plumbing equipment stolen in brazen Laval robbery
An unusual theft yesterday afternoon at a warehouse in the Chomedey district of Laval.
Police there say a group of thieves surprised a lone employee of a plumbing supply warehouse on Industrial Blvd. at around 5 p.m., tied him up, and then made off with more than $400,000 worth of mostly copper plumbing parts, with the help of a forklift on the site
The 35-year-old employee was threatened with a handgun before being tied up and put in the bathroom.
His family called police at around 9 p.m., when they noticed he hadn't returned home.
Police then arrived at the warehouse and freed him. He wasn't hurt.
They're now looking for anywhere from one to four suspects in the case.
