LISTEN: Mélanie Joly's one-on-one with Andrew Carter
Mélanie Joly, who recent polls have unexpectedly placed second in the race to become mayor of Montreal, became the third of the four main mayoralty candidates to sit in with CJAD's Andrew Carter for a one-on-one chat Thursday morning.
The 34-year-old Oxford-educated lawyer says she entered the race because she believes that while Montreal has good, creative people, much like other places she's lived, like London or New York — Montreal isn't developing its full potential because of bad politics and poor administration.
"I was frustrated like many Montrealers with what happened in the last months and the last years," she says. "I thought, 'I won't let that go'"
Friday, mayoral front-runner Denis Coderre becomes the last of the candidates to join Andrew at 7:10 a.m.
