Charbonneau: cross-examination of star witness will have to wait
The long-awaited cross-examination of former union local boss Ken Pereira at the Charbonneau Commission is being pushed back — again.
A report suggests Pereira, who was hospitalized after falling down a flight of stairs at his home on Oct. 8, is still suffering from head trauma and vision problems.
It hasn't yet been confirmed by officials at the Charbonneau commission, but it appears Pereira's doctors are against him re-taking the stand as scheduled when the hearings resume on Monday.
Pereira's tales of how organized crime had infiltrated the upper ranks of the FTQ-Construction union rocked the Commission earlier this month.
