Class-action suit against STM maintenance workers rejected
It's the end of the road for a group that wanted to launch a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit against the STM's maintenance workers.
The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear the case that argued union pressure tactics in 2007 deprived users of public transit.
The plaintiffs alleged the union supported, encouraged and urged its members to use illegal pressure tactics between September and December 2007 — which significantly disrupted service.
The case was rejected at Quebec Superior Court, then the Quebec Court of Appeal earlier this year — and now it's been rejected by the Supreme Court of Canada.
