This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Bluebird/Wagon Wheel Fire that took place on September 1, 1972, and the City of Montreal will commemorate the 37 victims.

On August 31st, at 9:30 am, they will join the Montreal Firemens' 150th Anniversary Mass at Mary-Queen-of -the -World Cathedral, 1085,Rue de la Cathedrale: Father Gravel.

10:45am Departure of the firemen's solemn march (street closing) with the families of the fire victims leading. 

11:00am Arrival at The Phillips Square Monument Site, Cathcart and Union.

11:15pm Unveiling of the Monument and Acknowlegement of Special Guest.

2:30pm Opening of the exhibition at City Hall, 275 Notre Dame Est, Montreal. The exhibition will be available for viewing until September 14th,2012.

On September 1st at 4:00 pm, There will be a Meet & Greet for the Family and Survivors,and a buffet served, at Christ Church Cathedral, 1444 Ave. Union, Montreal. At 8pm there will be a Candlelight Vigil as well as the laying of the flowers at Phillips Square.
