The Aouettes have come to contract terms with a couple of their recent draft picks.
Receiver Damone Blackman, who was picked in 2013, has signed a two-year deal. while cornerback Keynan Parker, who was selected in 2012, has signed a three-year deal.
Parker (6'0", 183 lbs.), arrives in Montreal after being selected in the sixth round of the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft. The Coquitlam, BC native was a two-way threat for the Simon Fraser University Clan, lining up as not only a defensive back, but also taking a few snaps as a running back.
Blackman (5'11'', 170 lbs.), joins the Alouettes after being selected in the seventh round in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft. The Oshawa, ON native converted from defensive back to receiver in 2011 and 2012 with the CIS' St. Mary's University Huskies.
The Alouettes return to Bishop's University for the start of training camp June 2.
Arland Bruce The Third is already working on his image in Montreal. Now he's anxious to start his first Alouette training camp.
He jokes with CJAD 800 that he doesn't want his name pronounced "Arland Bruce the Turd", but "The Third" of course. The CFL allstar and Grey Cup champ has heard variations of his name, but hopes by June 2nd training camp Montrealers will get used to saying it right.
Bruce joins a talented cast of pass-catchers in Montreal, with a wily veteran still around to sling it their way. The enigmatic slotback/WR surpassed the 10,000 receiving yards mark in 2011, and holds the record for most catches in a game with 16.
The two-time Grey Cup champ is 11 touchdowns shy of 100; a mark only three men have ever achieved in Canadian Football.
He hopes AC can help get him there.

Less than 12 hours after Nos Canadiens were elimnated from the Stanley Cup playoffs, the quest for another Cup has taken an important stride.
Anthony Calvillo is throwing again.
"It feels great honestly...now that I'm throwing it felt great. There's nothing bugging me whatsoever," Calvillo said after an informal workout session with veteran teammates and some Alouette newbies alike.
Calvillo had not thrown a football since the dramatic loss in the Eastern Final to the eventual 100th Grey Cup-winning Toronto Argonauts. AC had offseason surgery on his left (non-throwing shoulder).
The future Hall of Fame quarterback is also delighted to see Arland Bruce lll fitting into the Als' workout group.
"It's great to see he's been here during the offseason training and he looks in great shape. He wants to go out there and help this team win and I'm glad he's here."
The Montreal Alouettes loaded up on defence in yesterday's CFL college draft, choosing five defensive players in their first six picks.
One of those players was Magog native Nicolas Boulay. Chosen in the 4th round, the Sherbrooke linebacker said today that he's thrilled about getting drafted by his home town team.
"A luxury is the best way to describe it. All my friends all my family around here can watch me. To have the crowd support me too. A lot of the fans also follow CIS football, so they've heard of me. So it's really a pleasure and a privilege to play for the Alouettes".
Meanwhile, in the sixth round, the Alouettes chose offensive lineman Simon Légaré. The 6'4", 275 lbs helped the Carabins to an 8-1 record last season and says he's been an Alouettes fan for as long as he can remember.

The Alouettes beefed up their defence at today’s CFL draft, picking five defensive players with their top six picks.
The Alouettes had two first round picks for the first time since 1999, and they chose University of Calgary linebacker Mike Edem third overall, followed by Edem's teammate and Montreal-native running back Steven Lumbala fifth overall.
Alouettes GM Jim Popp said he was thrilled to have acquired both players.
“Well it was great. We went into the day when we had the third and fifth pick that we had four names and we said wow if could get one of these four guys before we pick fifth. If we got two it would be fantastic, and we were able to get two of them so we were very happy.”
