Morgan: This makes me sick

So you've probably heard by now that the Washington Nationals have clinched a playoff spot and will have a shot at winning the World Series this year.

Does that make you feel as sick to your stomach as I feel?

When the Expos left Montreal for Washington, D.C. after the 2004 season, Expos fans everywhere were in mourning. But at least the Nationals were playing lousy baseball since they opened in Washington.

Not anymore. Now they're in the playoffs. If they don't win the World Series this year, they'll have another chance somewhere down the line, while Expos fans have only memories.

If I sound bitter, it's because I am. No Expos fan I know of have gotten over their move.

Maybe one day, Major League Baseball will return to Montreal. And that's one big maybe.  And to those who say, 'Get over it', I say I can't.

Baseball has always meant a lot to me, either playing or watching. Going to a big-league ballgame is an experience like no other.

And the sad fact is that Montrealers no longer have an opportunity to see MLB in our town.

Get over it? It's not going to happen.

Speaking about get over it they are the Washington Nationals now not the Expos. Bad management, money, the Big Owe where all factors in the demise of the expos, and also government involvement. The next time you will see if ever a team here is if some private money props up a team and they convince politicians to fund a new stadium lol then you have a slim chance at getting a team, till then enjoy the blue jays.

Joe dont forget how the fans were treated badly!

I remeber the next to final year 2 or three games left in the season...I was sitting right behind the plate a few rows back, There were maybe 5000 people at that game..During the 7th inning, fans started moving down to the better seats and were promptly kicked out!

Only 5000 loyal fans and this is how they are treated... The expos should have escorted them down to the better seats...not thrown them out!

Haven't followed since The strike and a 63 cent dollar killed them and no bailout as they did with hockey when the dollar was low and the US teams compensated the canadian teams for the low dollar.

Agreed Richard but the bottom line is nobody could help this lame duck team. It needed big money and even though there was some lying around at the time people did not want to enter in what was an obvious losing proposition. Than along came Jeffery Loria who people still think is the reason the Expos are gone, but in my opinion they were gone long before he came along, he is just the person that aligned everything so the move can be made, and completed the deal that was in the making a long time. We are a hockey town, Nordiques new stadium, Canadiens favorable tax deal. Bronfman used his money to put the on the field so when he bailed, they sent in the clowns and it was downhill from there, and Loria is a business man, and he was not there to lose money. And as for the original topic Barry get over it, alot already have.
