The Expos live on...as a fashion statement

It's been eight years since the Expos graced a baseball diamond in Montreal.

But despite the team's death knell, its iconic old logo is gaining ground on fan's heads.

Mike Corcoran is the Quebec rep for the cap company New Era (official MLB hat manufacturer) and he spoke to Abe Hefter about how a long-gone symbol can still stoke loyalty, and a fashion trend.

Retailing between $20 and 35, Expos caps are the third-biggest seller in Canada behind the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees, and they've been spotted all over the continent.

I've always loved the Expos uniform and logo so I would gladly wear an Expos cap too.

It is also heartwarming to see the logo in Washington Nationals Park. Among the retired numbers, they have Gary Carter and Andre Dawson - with Expos logos. I thought that was a very nice touch.

And, for what it's worth, the Nationals are currently the best team in Baseball. In my heart, I follow them like the Expos.

    This is a happy story.
