CJAD Sports has learned Dawson College CEGEP will honour Tony Proudfoot by naming their 3 gyms the "Tony Proudfoot Gymnasium."
Proudfoot, a longtime Athletics teacher at Dawson and CJAD 800 broadcaster, is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The former Alouette CFL Allstar is a 2-time Grey Cup champion as a player, and 2-time Grey Cup champion as special consultant to Als' Head Coach Marc Trestman.
The official announcement and naming ceremony is expected before Christmas.

I had the pleasure of being taught Phys Ed by Tony Proudfoot between 1976-1979 at Dawson. Not only was he an inspiration & motivator - but he also gave me the extra confidence, compassion & support as well as being by my side when I was going through 15 extensive operations & physiotherapy treatments during this time when my left hand was mangled in an accident while I was attending Dawson.

You are an unbelievable inspiration! I cheered for you in '77 from the highest row of the upper deck at the Big Owe...had no idea you had done what you'd done with the staples in your shoes...thanks for being you!
