Calvillo: "I'm anxious"
Quarterback Anthony Calvillo is anxious to get the season going.
Calvillo and the rest of the Alouettes reported to the Big O today for team meetings. They'll be back on the practice field tomorrow as they look ahead to game one, Sunday night in Calgary, against the Stampeders.
"The fact that I've been playing football for 19 years -- it's not going to last forever," said Calvillo. "I'm really taking to heart what that means. I'm very, very anxious."
Having said that, Calvillo added that he takes a lot of pride in being on top of his game, and won't take too much time to stop and smell the roses as the Als prepare for the Stamps.
Head coach Mark Trestman said he's going to put together a low-maintenance game-plan "to see what we have."
Newcomer Ameet Pall, released by Calgary last Saturday, has joined the Alouettes but will not suit up Sunday night. He's nurrsing an injured left foot and had a date with an MRI machine after today's meetings.
The Montreal native was Calgary's first-round pick in the recent CFL draft.
